What are the different Christian views about civil partnerships?

A
  • Anglicans and Catholics do not advocate this because sexual relations are for marriage with the main role being procreation.
  • Anglican vicars can have civil partnerships but must remain celibate
  • Anglicans say no services or blessings should be given to homosexual civil partnerships.
  • Some Christians believe civil partnerships provide the same stability and companionship that heterosexual marriage gives.
  • CP’s reflect the biblical value of equality, lifelong marriages and God’s desire to bless the faithful.
