Alcohol Withdrawal Timeline

A

Early symptoms - 7 - 48 hours after cessation. Early symptoms include intense tremors, cramps, vomiting, increased HR, BP, Grand Mal seizures, etc.

A

We orient them to reality. We also give meds, like Anatabuse (Disulfram, which when mixed with alcohol makes you sick) and Naltexone (which reduces the high) or Campral (which helps by reducing some of the unpleasant symptoms of abstinence.
