A

Generally very reliable, but not for LDCs because it can be hard to calculate. Relevant because the higher the GDP, the more developed the country is.

A

The economy is divided into 4 sectors whose importance changes as a country develops.
Shows how the importance of each sector varies through a pre-inductrial, industrial and post-industrial time frame.

A

Ranks countries according to economic and social criteria.
Gives a number from 0-1
Because there are several sources, its very valid but it can be subjective because someone chooses how each part is weighed.

Gender inequality

A

Combination of reproductive health, social empowerment and workforce participation of people over 15y.
Takes into account 3 factors, very valid
However some countries are influenced by tradition and culture (Saudi Arabia will have lower gender equality).

Environmental quality

A

Ranks countries on indoor and outdoor pollution
More developed countries tend to have more cars and burn more fuels.
But as it developed further, it finds ways to reduce pollution.

A

consists of GDP, social support, healthy life expectancy, freedom of life choices, generosity, trust and residual.
Has a weighted score from 1-10
Reliable because it takes into account many factors.
