What are the 7 elements of the Marine Corps Mission?
1. Provide COMBINED ARMS and SUPPORTING AIR COMPONENTS

-Protect key naval installations and facilities worldwide
-NOT part of MC Operating Forces
-Provide security for EMBASSIES and CONSULATES

Purpose of the HQMC
-Consists of the Commandant of MC and his advising staff.
-Commandant of MC directly responsible to the SECNAV for administration, discipline, organization, training, efficiency, and readiness of the Marine Corps.
-Principal organization for conduct of all missions across military operations.
-Task-organized, Combined forces, equipped for SHORE/SEA based missions ranging from Humanitarian - Peacekeeping - Intense Combat in any environment
-Able to respond rapidly to contingency anywhere in the world.
MEF - ELEMENTS

MHG - MISSION
-Provides ADMIN / TRAINING / LOGISTICAL support in CONUS/FORWARD DEPLOYED to MEF and MEB
-Acts as HQ for other 4 elements to allow MEF CE to execute WAR FIGHTING FUNCTIONS for COCOM
MAW - ACE
-Task-organized to support MAGTF's by performing all of the functions of MC aviation.
-Operates from SHIPS or expeditionary AIRFIELDS and FORWARD OPERATING SITES.
MARDIV - GCE
-Task-organized to support MAGTF in ground operations
-Infantry with ARTILLERY, RECON, ARMOR, and ENGINEER FORCES
MLG - LCE
-Task-organized to support READINESS and SUSTAINABILITY of MAGTF

Each MEF consists of :
-One Marine Division (MARDIV )

-MAGTF led by a BRIGADIER GENERAL
-Capable of rapid DEPLOYMENT and EMPLOYMENT via AMPHIBIOUS / AIRLIFT / Maritime Prepositioned Force / ANY COMBINATION
-Commanded by General
-Exercises command and control
-Contains a Surveillance Reconnaissance Intelligence Group(SRIG)
-Provide NCA and Combatant Commanders:
SEA BASED ,
RAPID CRISIS response capability
to execute FULL RANGE of military operations.
MEU CE-Mission to provide command, control, planning and coordination to MEU CE and the below components.
ACE- Reinforced Helicopter Squadron (Transport/Utility/Attack & V/STOL)
Ground Combat Element- Infantry Battalion
Logistic Combat Element- CLB

MEF-CE - MISSION
-Provide COMMAND, CONTROL, DIRECTION, PLANNING and coordination of AIR, GROUND, LOGISTICAL operations.
MARCENT - MISSION
-MC service component for U.S. Central Command
-Responsible for all MARFOR in CENTCOM area of responsibility.
MFR - MISSION
-To AUGMENT, REINFORCE, and provide OP TEMP RELIEF to Active MARFOR.
-Service to the community
