• A professional responsibility and the hallmark of
self-regulated professionals
• It is a pharmacist’s professional responsibility to
- Continuously improve professional knowledge and
skills
- Take responsibility for maintaining a high standard
of professional competence
- Evaluate individual practice
- Assume responsibility for improvement
- Keep informed about new pharmaceutical
knowledge

• Forward-looking: helping pharmacist meet changing needs of albertans and integrating
With other ACP programs, support throughout programs

  • Sustainable: ongoing relevance of program and ability to change over time when new needs or practices required
  • Responsible: make sure they meet legislative requirements
