Q

The NACA scoops are what?

A

The tanks are vented into atmosphere on the ground by two NACA scoop vents. In flight, the NACA scoops provide ram air pressure to the tanks.

15
Q

How many magnetic level indicators are there and where are they located?

A

5, 2 under each main tank and 1 under the center tank

16
Q

For automatic pressure refueling, what does the refuel/defuel control panel permit?

A

Preselection of fuel quantity desired
Built in test (BITE) feature
Refuel/defuel shut off valves to close automatically if the maximum fuel level is reached

17
Q

What is the purpose of the fuel drain valves that are installed in the lowest point of each tank?

A

To permit gravity defueling.

18
Q

Explain how to check the lo fuel pressure annunciation for the boost pumps ?

A

Start left engine. Turn off both boost pumps. You’ll get fuel pres lo on right. Then turn on other engine.

When shutting down, turn off left engine and then turn off boost pumps. You should get a fuel pres lo on left side.

19
Q

If the center tank has more than 500 lbs ?

A

Each main tank must have more then 4400 lbs

20
Q

When will the fuel system automatically start to transfer fuel ?

A

Imbalance of 200lbs

21
Q

Minimum bulk fuel temperature for take off ?

A

-30* C
