Cockpit safety inspection (CFM 4.12)
A
AML checked Aircraft documents Circuit breakers N/W STRG switch off LDG lever down Spoiler lever retracted Crew O2 quantity and flow Hydraulic pumps (as required depending on if powering up) Flaps/Slats in actual position Radar off ADG stowed EMERG FLAP switch normal Battery master switch on check volts APU electrics Fire detection test APU on FMS/ACARS/AHRS initialize Emergency equipment (escape hatch and rope, flashlights, axe, PBE, life vests(3), fire extinguisher) Crew O2 masks Gear pins inside the airplane, not installed... Hydraulic 3B pump on if required.

Explain the FIREX test ?
A
Push the Test button: 11 lights and 1 message
5 Green lights-
APU, Cargo, and L&R engine squibs. Green advisory message “Fire System OK” on EICAS.
7 Red lights-
2 master caution, LH&RH engine fire, APU fire and Forward and Aft Cargo smoke.

What are you looking for on the APU test. Then on start?
A
Push the PWR FUEL switch light:
3 white status messages: Door open APU SOV open APU IN BITE THEN RPM and EGT pop up on ED2
Push the start button and you will get a white APU start EICAS message…..
