Way of life of a group of people
Or behaviors, beliefs, values and symbols they accept
Passed along by communication and imitation from generation to the next
What is a sub-culture?
Distinctive group within a larger social or ethnic group
What is a stereotype?
Oversimplified opinion, prejudiced attitude, or uncritical judgement
What is prejudice
Irrational attitude or hostility directed against an individual, group, race, or their supposed characteristics
What is discrimination
Unfair or prejudicial treatment of people and group based on characteristics of race, gender, age or sexual orientation
What are values
Something or some ideal we find to be important or valuable
What is a belief
Set of values we believe to be true
What are norms
Code of behavior which is agreed upon/followed by a group of people
