They relate youth deviance to territory, identity, and control.
Deviant behaviour from young males was a form of resistance against society’s control and reaction to their identity being threatened.

Relative deprivation - People compare what they own with what others have, thus feel relatively deprived of things that others have which they don’t.
Marginalisation - People feel they are pushed to the edges of society if they can’t conform.
Subculture - Relative Deprivation and Marginalisation can lead to young people forming subcultures to help them deal with it.

Outdated ideas that can’t relate to society today.
Ignored gender (females in youth deviance) when studying.
Generalized about youth, not all youths were members of a spectacular subculture.
