Q

EVALUATION OF THE NEO-MARXIST AND MARXIST VIEW

A

Neo-Marxist found meaning that didn’t exist, the youth’s fashion didn’t have any meaning and they looked for examples relating to class and interpreted subcultures this way.

Research for youths is outdated as many youths inhabit differently to that of the 50’s and 70’s.

MCROBBIE AND GARBER and other feminists challenge the lack of female representatives in youth culture study, as they were as active as males.

The middle-class had their own subculture that wasn’t looked at within the youth culture study e.g. BRAKE ‘HIPPIES’
