Huskey 12: Flushing after drafting Class B Foam

Answer 1

1. Continue flowing though all foam discharges that were used.
2. Open the foam pump and manifold drains
3. Disconnect the pick-up hose [reinstall cap. Rinse pick-up hose with clean water when possible.]
4. page over and push down arrows to get to flush; press enter and toggle up to turn on manual flush
5. close manifold drain when done
   [will count down flush time; need to now prime the system]

After flushing the Huskey 12 system how do I get it primed and ready? (pt 1)

1. Select foam source
2. Open foam pump discharge drain
3. Press foam prime button and release when foam is coming out the discharge drain
4. Close foam pump discharge drain

After flushing the Huskey 12 system how do I get it primed and ready? (pt 2)

5. Open the manifold drain
6. Press foam prime button and release when foam is coming out the manifold drain
7. If not going to be immediately used to fight fire, allow water to continue to flow out of the manifold drain until clear of foam
8. Close the manifold drain

Question 4

When do foam pumps need to be flushed with a clean water in the pickup tube?

Answer 4

1. The only pump that needs the auxiliary pick up tube to be flushed with clean water is the Huskey 3, because there is no flush setting
2. Do this after drafting Class B or F500 (or a different brand of Class A than what we typically carry)

The following are the correct steps for setting up to draft class B foam from an external source (this is from engineer’s academy test)?

Answer 5

1. Place truck in pump
2. gather foam concentrate
   Open foam intake drain
3. Attach foam pickup tube and place in foam bucket
4. Select Draft class B as source
5. Flow at least 20 gpm through water/foam discharge
