Clues to Finding the Conclusion

A
  1. Ask what the issue is (look at the title & look at the opening paragraphs)
  2. Look for indicator words
  3. Look in likely locations (look at the beginning and the end)
  4. Remember what a conclusion is not
  5. Check the context of the communication and the author’s background
  6. Ask the question “and therefore?”
