what is hyperfractionation

A

Delivering smaller doses per fraction than the conventional dose, but delivered 2-3 times a day, to achieve a higher total dose in the same amount of time.

At our clinical sites you will often see patients treated BID (twice a day). Time between treatments must be at least 6 hours.

Separate or displace the palate, sparing it from treatment.

Also may serve to depress the tongue to either place it within the treatment field or to displace it from the treatment field.
