Issues w/ duty: Putting feelings aside

A

The concept of duty demands that we put our feelings aside in order to do the right thing.
It can be a difficult task for many to put their own morals aside and trust ‘duty’.

Issues w/ duty: Conflicting duties

A

It is difficult to distinguish between which duty is the right choice in conflict.

Q

Three postulates: There is afterlife, we are immortal

A

Kant argues that morality requires the ‘summon bonum’ (highest good) to be achieved.
Where perfect virtue is rewarded by perfect happiness.
Doesn’t happen in this life but to say it ought to be achieved must mean it can.
