Inhalation Anaestheticis Flashcards

1
Q

How does anesthesia work?

A

First we usually give injectable anesthetics so that animal starts to fall asleep and then we give oxygen together with inhalation anesthetics to keep the animal under sedation.

Fluid vaporizes
Goes to alveoli
Goes through the membrane from bigger concentration to lower
Low in blood and high in alveoli finally causes the induction of a anesthesia

When animal is woken up we give O2 to make the waking up quicker (substance leaves blood quicker)
