17
Q

Engine Failure on Takeoff - Above Vr ABORTED

A
  1. Pitch Attitude - Lower
  2. Directional Control - Maintain
  3. Throttles - As Required
  4. Airspeed - 88 KIAS
  5. Landing Gear Down - Land Straight Ahead

18
Q

Engine Failure in Flight - Below Vmc, and WHY we do each step!

A
  1. Rudder - Apply Against Yaw (to maintain directional control)
  2. Throttles - Retard (reducing power on operative engine will reduce yaw and make directional control easier to maintain)
  3. Pitch Attitude - Lower Nose to Accelerate above Vmc (accelerating will increase rudder effectiveness and allow directional control to be maintained)
19
