What does NLG stand for?
Nose Landing Gear
What does the NLG strut assembly provide the aircraft?
Landing, takeoff and taxi energy absorption, and tire/runway compliance.
Where is the NLG located?
It is located on the underside of the forward fuselage.
What does the dual chamber design for the NLG provide?
It provides a smooth long strike during landing and catapult operations.
Where is the launch bar attached?
It’s attached to the nose landing gear.
What is the launch bar’s purpose?
It provides a means of steering the aircraft during carrier deck tracking and engages the catapult, applying catapult, applying catapult tow forces to the aircraft.
Where is the launch bar located?
The launch bar is located on the forward side of the nose landing gear shock strut.
What does MLG stand for?
Main Landing Gear
