Describe and differentiate between pterygium and pinguecula.
A
Pterygium is a triangular growth on the white part of the eye that also extends onto the cornea.
Pinguecula is a benign growth on the conjunctiva caused by the degeneration of the collagen fibers. Thick yellow fiber may be seen. C-555, #110.
