why do people choose to baptise?(4)

how christian upbringing may lead to belief(5)
- baptism:introduced to gods family and godparents promise to bring the infant in the christian faith
- worship:taken to church,sunday school
- community: provides sense of belonging with prayer meetings
- catholic school:taught faith
- adulthood:marriage
how may religious experiences lead to belief in god?(4)
- miracle: goes against the law of science so makes you think only god could have done it
- an answered prayer: provides someone with evidence that god does exist and is interested in them personally
- numinous experience: when something completeky astonishes you and leaves you thinking there may be a presense greater than you. Convinces them god must exist.
- conversion:when someone who previously didn’t believe in god changes to believe.
the design argument
The world is so well ordered and everything is balanced to sustain life. The world is so beautiful and complex
so it must have been designed
so it must have a designer
God is the only thing powerful enough to design it
so god must exist

like a watch the world has complex and distinctive features. If someone saw a watch they would naturally assume that designed by a clever person. The universe is so complex it couldn’t just happen by chance it must have been made my a powerful creator

why may people not believe in god(5)
- big bang:explosion of matter that the world was made its still expanding without involvement of outside power
- red shift: universe is expanding
- charles darwin evolution: all living things had evolved over a period of time to suit the environment so they can survive. This shows god didn’t create all life uniquely, it evolved from one source
- fossils show the development of some animals

why does the existence of suffering cause problems for christians?(3)
- omniscent:all knowing should know to stop it

- omnibenelovent: all good shouldnt want people to suffer

- there is suffering because of adam and eve

- evil isnt gods fault:humans have free will
- gods got a plan for us:may have to go through suffering
- allows us to follow jesus’ example

- some christians reject scientific explanation because genesis is true and is supported by faith and evidence
- some christians believe the bible is a fact:fundamentalists believe the world was created by a omnipotent god
- other christians believe the bible can be interpreted:message and meanings are true,some stories represent greater truth not what happened. Science says how world happened, bible says why
- some christians believe the physical form of the world can be explained without god but the beauty cannot
