A

Supported 3E during EG meeting (stood outside); king couldnt subdue 3E …also contirbuted to king’s decision to increase troops in Paris

A

W/out NA neither Bastille or OD would have a long lasting effect- he could suppress their attacks much more easily (it was NA who organised NG)

A

not confirming voting procedure again increases tension

A

Not despotic at seance royale- getting rid of taxes as long as he had consent of reps, lettres de cachet to be abolished
Any decision over voting would be unpopular with one group

A

Estates created paralysis over voting - gave time and frustration for NA to form
Voting by head was the idea of Society of 30
Began move to 3rd estate on June 13th- 3 cures from Poitou
Sieyes gave 3rd estate belief to be representative as he was a member fo the clergy
2nd estate joined NA giving it legitimacy despite seance rouale
They signed Aug Dec and DoroM (renouncing privileges and removal of feudal system)

A

Only signed AD and DoRoM because of Great Fear; needed to stop anarchy; not on board with abolishment (great debates)
3E coud have created NA without them…they were 96% of France

Sparked great fear - king wouls have been more willing suppress the risings without the NA
They were a legitimate political opponent to the King
Urban workers worried about King but Bastille would have happened if NA didnt encourage
Bourgeoise instigated all movements to a NA
