Delirium: Last a few hours, maybe a day; comes on quickly; may be in a hospital setting; client typically has medical problems; rapid onset
Major Neurocognitive disorder: AKA: Dementia; serious issues with functioning and memory.
Mild neurocognitive disorder:Pre-cursor to “major neurocognitive disorder”; a noticeable decline but can manage independence; may need support

Somatic symptoms disorder versus illness anxiety disorder versus conversion disorder

A

Somatic symptom disorder is present for up to 6 months. This person actually has a health-related issue, pain for example. Severe health-related anxiety and spends a ton of time researching that disorder.

illness anxiety disorder also knowing as a hypochondriac, it’s a fear of being sick.

Conversion disorder, may need support, psychological, stress that causes the body to interpret to paralyzation in the body, or does not allow limbs to work.
