When in XFR, the radar line on the MFD becomes amber and an “x” appears in front of the mode line.

What is the function of the Path Attenuation Correction feature of the weather radar?

A

The yellow Path Attenuation Correction alert arc appears and informs the pilots that the radar beam is being severely attenuated and that the area of shadow behind the intervening rainfall may contain hidden and possibly significant precipitation. Avoid flight into the area between the displayed weather and the yellow Path Attenuation Correction alert.
