Q

FIRE WARN (Red Lights)

A

Illuminated: Indicates a fire warning (or system test) in one or more of the following

  • Engine
  • APU
  • main wheel well
  • Cargo

Associated Aural Alarms include:

  • fire warning bell
  • if on ground, remote APU fire warning horn

Push - extinguishes both master FIRE WARN lights

  • silences fire warning bell
  • silences remote APU fire warning horn
  • resets system for additional warnings

Note: pushing the fire warning bell cutout switch on overheat/fire protection panel results in the same action

2
Q

MASTER CAUTION (yellow light)

A

Illuminated: a system annunciator light has illuminated

Push: extinguishes both MASTER CAUTION lights

  • system annunciator lights extinguish
  • resets system for additional master caution conditions
3
Q

System Annunciator Panel

A

illuminated: An amber light, relating to illuminated system annunciator, has illuminated on forward overhead, aft overhead, or overheat/fire protection panel

To extinguish - push either MASTER CAUTION light

To recall - push and release either system annunciator panel

  • if a master caution condition exists, appropriate system annunciators and MASTER CAUTION lights illuminate
  • a single fault in certain redundant systems, or some simple faults, cause the system annunciator light to illuminate during a recall. The system annunciator light will extinguish when the MASTER CAUTION light is pushed
4
Q

PSEU (Proximity Switch Electronic Unit light)

A

Illuminated:

On The Ground

  • a fault is detected in the PSEU
  • or the main cargo door micro switches or proximity switches have failed giving false door position indications during a Master Caution recall

In Flight
- inhibited from thrust lever advance for T/O until 30 seconds after landing

5
Q

Takeoff Configuration Warning Light

A

Illuminated (red)

  • activates on the ground as the throttles are advanced if the airplane is not configured correctly for takeoff
  • activation is simultaneous with aural warning intermittent horn for TAKEOFF CONFIGURATION alert
6
Q

Cabin Altitude Warning Light

A

Illuminated (red)

  • illuminates when cabin altitude exceeds 10,000ft
  • activation is simultaneous with aural warning intermittent horn for CABIN ALTITUDE alert
  • extinguishes when cabin altitude descends below 10,000ft
7
Q

MACH AIRSPEED WARNING TEST (switches)

A

Push: tests respective mach/airspeed warning system

  • clacker sounds
  • inhibited while airborne
8
Q

STALL WARNING TEST (switches)

A

PUSH:
on ground with AC power available: Each test switch tests its respective stall management yaw damper (SMYD) computer.

No.1 SMYD = captains
No.2 SMYD = FO’s

Note: inhibited while airborne

9
Q

Landing Gear Warning Cutout Switch

A

Push:
silences landing gear configuration warning aural indication at flaps up through 10 and above 200ft RA

Note: the aural indication cannot be silenced with the cutout switch at flaps greater than 10

10
Q

BELOW G/S (light)

A

Illuminated (amber): below G/S alert is active

Push: inhibits ground prox G/S alert when below 1,000ft radio altitude

11
Q

GPWS INOP (light)

A

Illuminated: GPWS computer malfunction or power loss

  • Invalid inputs are being received from RA, ADIRU, ILS receiver, IRS, FMC, stall management computers, or EFIS control panel
12
Q

What color warning lights require immediate attention of the flight crew?

A

Red: Engine, Wheel well, cargo, APU fire; autopilot, autothrottle;

13
Q

Conditions that require timely attention of the flight crew are what colors?

A

AMBER

14
Q

Blue lights indicate what to the flight crew?

A

electrical power availability, valve position, equipment status, F/A or ground communications

15
Q

How can the crew manually activate the Main Deck Flashing lights?

A

select the fasten seat belts lights to on

16
Q

What does the PSEU monitor?

A
  • Takeoff config warnings
  • landing config warning
  • landing gear
  • air/ground sensing
17
Q

When will the T/O config warning sound ?

A
  • trailing edge flaps are not in the flaps 1 through 25 range or
  • trailing edge flaps are in a skew or aysmmetry condition, or have uncommanded motion, or
  • leading edge devices are not configured for takeoff or have uncommanded motion
  • speed brake lever is not in the down position or
  • spoiler control is open providing pressurized hydraulic fluid to the ground spoiler interlock valve, or
  • parking brake is set or
  • stabilizer trim is not set in the takeoff range
18
Q

When will you get a landing gear AURAL indication

A

Flaps up through - 10

  • ALT below 800RA, 1 engine inop and other thrust lever less than 34%
  • The landing gear warning horn can be silenced

Flaps 15 - 25

  • either forward thrust lever set below approx 20 degrees, or
  • an engine not operating and the other thrust lever is than 34 degrees
  • the landing gear warning horn cannot be silenced

Flaps greater than 25
- regardless of forward thrust lever position. the landing gear horn cannot be silenced.
