Dark tourism

Visiting places historically associated with death or tragedy

A site that people travel to as an Act of religious devotion

The Muslim Pilgrimage to Mecca, which all Muslims are expected to undertake if possible

Tourists travelling for their own enjoyment and pleasure, or to take a relaxing holiday. E.g. cruises, city breaks, beach holidays

Tourism that involves tourists visiting natural areas to
appreciate nature. Most of these activities can be described as
Ecotourism, engaging in tourism/travel that is environmentally responsible. E.g. whale watching, trekking, safaris, bird watching, conservation holidays

Can mean discovering a more far flung destination or travelling to an area to partake in adventurous sports E.g. rock climbing

Tourism that involves taking holidays or trips to engage in activities that make people feel physically or spiritually better

A new type of wellness tourism that involves visiting/staying in a digital free destination and engaging in digital free activities
