What is nominal data?

A
  • Data in separate categories ‘Fall into this category’
  • No overlap as categories are mutually exquisite
  • Contains least amount of information

What is Ordinal data?

A
  • Where data is ordered such as the order people finish in a race
  • Does not tell you how much difference between the data but simply in what order it is

What is interval?

A
  • Data measured using a public unit of measure such as for a race ‘seconds , minutes’ for weight ‘Pounds,Kilograms’
    They are called public units because each unit has an agreed amount
    -Contains most amount of information

It gives more than just order as they also show how much difference there is between.
