  • They were bitter because none of the allies were being asked or forced to disarm in the same way.
  • Also, an army of 100,000 was very small for a country of Germany’s size and the army was a symbol of German pride.

What happend to the Ruhr?

A
  • In 1922 nothing was paid. French and Belgian soldiers entered the Ruhr and took whatever was owed to them.
  • This was legal under the terms of the ToV.
  • because Germany ordered the workers to go on strike so that they were not producing anything for the french to take.
  • The French killed 100 workers and expelled 100,000 protesters from the region.
