What are the indications for the use of RBC in an Adult?
1) Acute Bleeding
2) HB <70g/L if stable and acute anaemia
3) HB <80 if CVD disease
4) Chronic Transfusion dependent anaemia- maintain Hb that prevents symptoms
5) Radiotherapy- limited data for Hb >110
6) Exchange Transfusion

15ml/kg
Indications for FFP?
1) Major Haemorrhage- 1 unit RBC: 1 FFP
2) PT/INR >1.5 with bleeding but w/out major haemorrhage
3) PT ratio/INR >1.5 and pre-procedure
4) LD and PT ratio/INR and pre-procedure
5) TTP/Plasme exchnge
6) replacement of singular coag factors
Indications for cryoprecipitate?
1) clinically significant bleeding and fibrinogen <1.5g/L (2g/L in obstetric)
2) Fibrinogen <1g/L and pre-procedure
3) Bleeding assoc w/ thrombolytic therapy
Indications for platelets?
Prophylatic
