1
Q

How does it argue that forgetting occurs?

A

when memory is not actively used the physical trace between neurons begins to fade away and may be over-written by new memories

2
Q

How are memory’s formed?

A

In the brain when neurones make connections with each other so that when 1 is activated others in the link are automatically activated too.

3
Q

What is a memory trace?

A

The pattern of activation when the neurones connect and one is activated , activating the others to make a memory.

4
Q

What is an Engram?

A

The physical change in brain structure caused by the new links between neurones

5
Q

What happens when we actively access the Memory

A

we strengthen the trace so the memory should still be available.

6
Q

What is a problem of availability?

A

That info is lost completely from the memory system through disuse and passage of time
