define anterograde amnesia.

A

use ‘antero’ as a keyword. means after. the definition is that the ltm (long term memory) is damaged and new ltm can’t be made. they have an intact short term memory but they cannot create new memories that last longer than a few minutes

define retrograde amnesia.

A

use ‘retro’ as a keyword. means before (retro). the definition is a memory condition that affects recall of memories prior to the injury to the brain. This means their short term memory is damaged and they are only able to remember what happened to them before their accident.

what are the symptoms of anterograde amnesia?

A

the patient suffering this type of amnesia is able to retain their long-term memories from before the incident. they are also unable to lay down new memories that last beyond a few minutes.

A

is a condition characterised by forgetting or memory loss particularly after brain trauma. There are two types retrograde and anterograde amnesia.

what are the symptoms for retrograde amnesia?

A

this type of amnesia is specific to one type of energy or in a specific time frame. In severe cases, patients can forget who they are or where they come from. it is possible for people with retrograde amnesia to regain some or all of their lost memory.
