A

First person narrative - makes it more personal

Uses blank verse to make it sound more serious and important and the natural rhythm makes it sound like natural speech

Structure

A

First part - tone is fairly light wand carefree.
“It’s usual home” - sense of comfort and confidence
“Troubled pleasure” -guilty but sense of excitement

Second part - distinct change. Tone becomes darker and more fearful. The appearance of mountain is overpowering and shocking
“A huge peak, black and huge”
“In grave and serious mood”
Sibilance = sinister feeling

Third part - reflects on how experience changed him so we empathise him
“No pleasant images of trees”
“And were a trouble to my dreams”
