A farmer chooses a young wife three years ago. She is afraid and runs away; the men
chase after her and lock her up.
-She does her domestic work but only communicates with animals.
- The seasons move on towards Christmas, and the farmer is bitter at the loveless
relationship and the lack of children
- Aware of her presence upstairs in the attic, the farmer is filled with desire for her and
there is a hint at his own madness.
