6

Dystopian view and bio-conservatism

technology is an inherently dehumanising force. industrial efficiency goes far beyond what is possible by human labour alone, and where human enhancement is fact. Tech isolates us and alienates us from our fellow humans. Encourages narcissism and the cult of perfection. Destroys the environment. The threat to the biological orer of things and the living world is both dangerous and immoral. Ignoring the needs of our own species.

7

Social constructivists

Tecnology is an instrument. It is values neutral. We must look to the social context instead, and understand how technology can be put into bad and good use.

Plastic surgery stats

Since 2000, overall procedures have risen 115 percent, but the types of procedures patients are choosing are changing.

“While more traditional facial procedures and breast augmentations are still among the most popular, we’re seeing much more diversity in the areas of the body patients are choosing to address,” said ASPS President David H. Song, MD, MBA, FACS. “Patients have more options than ever, and working closely with their surgeon, they’re able to focus on specific target areas of the body to achieve the look they desire.”
