Define the term “situational awareness”

A

Situational awareness is the accurate perception and understanding of all the factors and conditions within five fundamental risk elements (flight, pilot, aircraft, environment, external pressures), that affect safety before, during, and after the flight.

The status of aircraft systems, pilot passengers. Awareness of where the aircraft is in relation to terrain, traffic, wx, and airspace.
