A
  • Hypotension (low BP)
  • tachycardia (High HR/P)
  • pale cool clammy skin
  • FLUID LOSS = hyperthermia (sweating), vomiting, diarrhea, bleeding (hemorrhagic) and burns
3
Q

Cardiogenic shock

  • hypotension (low BP)
  • tachycardia (high HR/P)
  • pale cool clammy skin
  • crackles
  • POOR HEART FUNCTION = acute MI, valve failure, arrhythmia, cardiomyopathy, pericarditis, PE
4
Q

Types of Distributive shock

A

Anaphylaxis, neurogenic shock, and septic shock

5
Q

Anaphylaxis

A
  • Hypotension (low BP)
  • tachycardia (high HR/P)
  • restlessness
  • hives
  • swelling of throat
6
Q

Neurogenic shock

A
  • Hypotension (low BP)
  • Bradycardia (low HR/P)
  • warm, dry skin
  • Caused by injury to CNS or drugs
7
Q

Septic Shock

A
  • Hypotension (low BP)
  • tachycardia (High HR/P)
  • pink, warm, flushes skin
  • caused by infection or organ damage/dysfunction
8
Q

Obstructive shock

A
  • hypotension (low BP)
  • tachycardia (high HR/P)
  • something is obstructing the flow of blood
  • caused by tension pneumothorax, pericardial tamponade, pulmonary embolism
