Steps to write a major or minor scale

A
  1. Put in key signature (if necessary)
  2. Write the first note, starting low for ascending scales and high for descending scales.
  3. Write seven more notes (ignore accidentals)
  4. If not using key signature, add sharps/flats as accidentals
  5. Add extra accidentals as necessary.
