  1. The war must be fought for a just cause
  2. There must be control over violence
  3. A war can be fought if it is believed that greater evil would exist otherwise
  4. It must in control of government and politicians rather than military dominance
  5. Force used should be proportional and not excessive
  6. Only the military should be involved (not innocent civilians)

Define social justice.

A

People should be treated fairly and with respect in their own society. There should be equal access to housing, education, healthcare, and the same human rights.

Define social injustice.

A

Where people may be denied rights as a consequence of poverty or discrimination/

Why might someone be a victim of social injustice?

A

Because of factors like race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, wealth, social class etc.

What are some examples of social injustice?

A
  • Treatment of Jews throughout history (esp. WW2 Holocaust)
  • Sexism in the workplace (“the glass ceiling”)
  • Age discrimination and stereotypes

Why is the issue of social injustice important to Christians?

A
  • Think people aren’t treated fairly
  • Bible says God created people equally so they should be treated equally
  • Bible full of messages that say people should be treated fairly
  • Christians believe sin is the reason for a lot of social injustices
