Why did Geography help the Red Army’s victory in the Civil War?

A

The Red Army were all based in the centre of Russia (Moscow, Petrograd). But the Whites were all spread across Russia.

A

Reds were united; they were ideologically committed to the Bolsheviks. The Whites were just committed by hatred and all for jumbled reasons.

A

Trotsky was an effective leader. He inspired troops and ensured they were well fed throughout the war. The White generals however didn’t have committed support from their troops. Corruption was rife.
