c. calcaneal varus, midfoot supination, and forefoot adduction
d. calcaneal valgus, midfoot pronation, and forefoot abduction

A

c. calcaneal varus, midfoot supination, and forefoot adduction

2
Q

True of false: 3 point force systems can control forefoot adduction in standard FOs

A

False

3
Q

FRO AFOs are effective to control up to 35 degrees of knee flexion

A

flase

4
Q

3 point force system to control ERD for an smo are?

2 forces medially at the foot

1 laterally

c. talocrual joint

6

false

7
Q

True or false: The ACL, PCL, MCL, and lCL ligaments are the most important structures for stabilizing the knee.

A

False

8
Q

Describe all the test and expected results you would do for a patient presenting with lateral compartment pain and an Rx for an unloader KO

A

Test for lateral compression pain, which is placing a valgus moment on the knee with the patient’s full weight on the leg. Have the patient hold onto something for stability in case knee gives out to pain. A positive test is increased pain.
Test also for medial ligament laxiety. This is putting a valgus force on the knee with the patient sitting. If there is excessive movement then there is ligament laxity

9
Q

If she presents with pain in the medial compartment as well, is she a candidate for an unloader KO?

A

No, because a medial compartment test is what the brace will be doing when unloading the knee. If it still hurts then the brace will cause more harm and should not be given
