Define: physical activity

getting the body moving

Why might we be less active now than ever?

due to technology, using transport instead of walking and bike riding, safety fears.

benefits of physical activity?

• Healthy body weight (uses up energy), hence decreases risk of obesity
• Healthy blood vessels (maintains elasticity) hence reduces blood pressure and CVD
• Positive mental health and lowered rates of depression/anxiety/stress due to endorphins
• Weight bearing activity assists in keeping muscular and skeletal systems strong and decreases risk of osteoporosis.
