Q

Normal P Wave?

A

upright, round (lead II)

  1. 06 - 0.10 sec
  2. 5 - 2.5 amp
2
Q

Tall/Round or Tall/Peaked P Wave?

Amp > 2.5 mm, suggests what?

A

= P pulmonale

seen w/ ↑ RA pressure, RA dilation

if amp > 2.5 mm, suggests RA enlargement

3
Q

Notched, Wide, Biphasic P Waves?

Width > 0.10 suggests?

A

= P mitrale

seen w/ ↑ LA pressure, LA dilation

if width > 0.10 sec, suggest LA enlargement

4
Q

Not uniform P Waves caused by?

A

atrial impulses NOT by SA node

e.g. premature atrial complexes, wandering atrial pacemaker, atrial tachy

5
Q

P Waves during rapid rates?

A

hidden in T Wave,

T Wave looks peaked, notched, large

6
Q

Flutter Waves seen when?

A

seen w/ atrial rapid fire in one site (250-350bpm)

“sawtooth”

7
Q

Absence of P Waves seen when?

A

atrial rapid fire from many sites >350 bpm

several fib waves before QRS

8
Q

Inverted P Waves seen when?

A

impulse from (U) AV jxn, (P) low RA near AV node, or LA

may come before, during , after QRS

9
Q

More P Waves than QRS occurs when?

A

impulse initiated in SA node BUT atria blocked so didn’t reach vents
