A

Pus forms

Pressure on periosteum –> new bone formation

Vascular stasis also occurs –> venous congestion + arterial thromboembolus –> necrosis

A

Nothing in first two weeks

May later show epiphyseal destruction

Aspiration

A

Flucloxacillin = staph A

Empirical if no culture
