Flight Deck Fixed O2 System

All A/C General System Information

General Operation for B767 & A330

Bottle-fed
Masks located outboard of J/S
Chin level controls
A/C B767 & A330 it is the 1st F/A responsibility to preflight

Operaton:
Squeeze red tabs
Pull mask out
Place mask over nose and mouth
Release red tabs

To change flow type between demand and constant rotate emergency test selector

To change O2 type between 100% and diluted flip switch to "N"/normal position

No F/A pre-flight

4 "quick donning" masks with separate smoke goggles

Preflight
"Reset/Test Family; MR. Slide & Ms. Emergency Selector"

Press the reset/test slide lever down; check flow indicator

then

Press the reset/test slide lever down while simultaneously (at the same time) press the emergency test selector; checking the flow indicator

Press the rest/test slide lever down; check for flow indicator

"Chemically-generated" canister system

Canister indications/warning:
burning smell, buzzing sound, canister become extremely hot

Masks will drop when cabin interior altitude reaches 14,000 ft or FD manually activates them via switch

O2 Mask Locations

PSU, contains 1 extra mask per seat grouping for lap children

(2) per F/A J/S compartment
(2) per galley compartment

Cabin Fixed O2 System

Activating O2 Masks

Masks are attached to lanyards; lanyards are attached to the release pin
Pull down sharply on one mask will cause O2 to flow to all masks in the unit (bag may not inflate)
Place mask over nose and mouth secure by pulling on elastic tabs on either side of mask
Breath normal
Secure your own mask then assist others

O2 will last for 15 min
Cannot be shut off once activated
If working, green flow indicator will show can also test by squeezing bag shut to check for inflation

Sharp in the slot

B767:
Flat in the slat (580-586)
Sharp in the slot (587-593)

A330:
ORT
Sharp in the slot

Accident Mask Drop

Make announcement
Notify FD of # opened/ location/ and any unopened seats

If masks were pulled
Place in seat pocket
Do Not re-stow in O2 compartment
Relocate PAX
If full flight - notify FD & standby by for further instructions
Announce "No Smoking"

J/S O2 Mask Malfunction

On the ground:
Notify FD to have maintenance to reset

Durring taxi, take off, & landing
Notify FD & close compartment
Occupy J/S for TTL
Fill out incident report

If A/C is dispatched
Verify FD knows mask is inoperable
PAX asile seat closest to J/S must be blocked off for F/A
Occupy J/S for TT&L

Portable Oxygen Concentrators

POC

F POCMEDS F

Must be FAA approved
May be used on all phases of flight
Outlets & remotes may not be used
Captain must be verbally advised
If POC malfunctions tell PAX to use O2 W/A
Cannot be seated in an exit row
Brief PAX to used A/C O2 in a decompression
Must be stowed underneath the seat in front of the PAX during TTL
