They are responsible for setting up an effective FSG communication structure. - –Communicate directly with IC to up date

- operating conditions at Control
- provide situational awareness to Control of the incident ground.

They will utilise the FSG CU and FSGP personnel to help set up communication structure.

FSG Support Pump - what is their role?

A

FSG Support Pump
This pump will be mobilised as part of the FSG attendance – separate to the fire attendance.

At the FSG Sector Commanders discretion this role can be carried out by the FSGP crew that have been involved in the collection of FSG Caller information from Control. Their role will be dedicated to supporting the passing of FSG information from the FSG CU to the Bridgehead.

They will be tasked with passing the Control Information Forms from the FSG CU to the Bridgehead to ensure the information has been passed correctly.

FSG Command Unit - what is their role?

A

FSG Command Unit
This CU will be mobilised as part of the FSG attendance – separate to the fire attendance. They will be overseen by the FSG Sector Commander and aided by the FSG Support Pump.

They will be responsible for ;
Receiving and passing on FSG information from Control to the Bridgehead
Giving timely feedback to Control on the conditions and progress of BA crews involved with FSG rescues
Preparing a FIB for the oncoming Bridgehead CU crew when multiple FSG calls are received
Acting as a listening post during multiple FSG incidents, to ensure consistency and as a contingency if the Bridgehead needs to be relocated

This vital information is stored on the FSG CU and will be used to ensure the Bridgehead CU can be up and running again as soon as possible.

The IC has the option to utilise an existing CU to be designated as the FSG CU, which can be replaced by the mobilised FSG CU for incident command when it arrives

FSG Coordinator - what is their role?

A

FSG Coordinator
The FSG Coordinator is a role established to coordinate the FSG rescue activities during a multiple FSG incident.
They will be based at the Bridgehead, or other relevant area of operations, and they will ensure that:
The Bridgehead Command Unit crew and FSG Support Pump crew mobilised for the multiple FSG calls are in place to assist in the passing of FSG information.
They liaise with the FSG Fire and Search Sector Commanders to ensure the effective coordination of rescues.
Timely progress updates are communicated to Control via the CU crew at the Bridgehead or other relevant area of operations. This must include regular updates on the deployment, progress and outcomes of rescue activities sent to each FSG call.

FSG Support Pump - multiple FSG - what is their role?

A

FSG Support Pump - multiple FSG
This is an additional pump mobilised exclusively to assist the Bridgehead CU crew.

They will take the completed Control Information Forms, which will be placed in an A6 transparent wallet, and pass them to the Fire and Search Sector Commanders.

They are to record what actions are being undertaking concerning each Control Information Form on the corresponding yellow copy, in the further information field.

This yellow copy is given back to the Bridgehead CU crew who will then update Control on the actions of the BA crews.

FSG Multiple Calls CU - what is their role?

A

At a multiple FSG incident an additional CU is mobilised to be deployed at the Bridgehead (or other relevant area of operations).

They are to liaise with the FSG CU to receive a brief on the number of FSGs in progress and will take a pre-prepared FIB to the Bridgehead while maintaining a listening watch on the Airwave radio channel nominated for FSG.

Once in position they will take over receiving FSG calls directly from Control at the Bridgehead and complete additional Control Information Forms. The FSG Support pump crew will take these to the Fire or Search Sector Commanders who will accordingly task a FSG BA crew. These will in turn be placed in A6 see-through plastic wallets and clipped to the team leaders BA tally when tasked and placed in the BA board.

The new control information form is A5 and has three copies. what are the colours and where do they go?

A

The top (white) copy of the form must be taken to the Bridgehead.

The other two copies (yellow and blue) These Control Information Forms will be used to record the actions of the crews carrying out rescues (kept together)

are used to pass information from the Bridgehead CU to the fire sector.

The forms are completed in BLOCK CAPITALS

A

The Bridgehead CU crew will complete Casualty Information Form(s), place them inside the A6 plastic see through wallet(s) and pass them to Fire/ Search Sector Commander. These will be updated by the FSG support crew with updates sent back to Control .
