Q

How do you convert standard AM & PM times to military time?

A

12:00 AM starts at 0000 or 2400. From 12:00 AM to 12:59 PM are the same numbers. So 12:00 AM to 12:59 PM = 0000 to 1259

To convert times from 1:00 PM - 11:59 PM to military time. Just simply add 12.

For example:

1: 00 PM + 12 = 1300
4: 54 PM + 12 = 1654

*Note: The use for a colon is not necessary in military time; however sometimes military time can be expressed with a colon.
