A

The FAST Unit shall report to and stage NEAR the ICP w/i VERBAL contact, at a position from which they can be readily deployed.
However, the I/C may assign the FAST Unit to stage at a location OTHER THAN the ICP based on the type of buildings units are operating in.

What is the first thing that the FAST Unit should do upon arrival at the location of the distressed member?

A

The TRANSMITTING member of the FAST Unit shall

  • Depress the EAB on THEIR HT
  • Provide the IC with LUNAR
  • Then reset THEIR HT EAB (2 seconds)
  • Assess FAIR Fire, Air, Immediate medical care and Removal
  • Provide additional air supply as needed
  • Confirm positive ID
  • If possible, depress the EAB of the member in distress
  • Notify the IC PRIOR to EAB activation of the distressed member
  • If unable to activate EAB, key their mic.*
