Class

A

Anticonvulsant

19
Q

Phenytoin (Dilantin)

Description

A

Seizures/status epilepticus: 8-10mg/kg slow IV

Dysrhythmias: 3-5 mg/kg slow IV

25
Q

Tetracaine

Class

A

Opthalmic, anathetics

26
Q

Tetracaine

Description

A

Topical application to the eye, local anesthetics penetrate to sensory nerve endings in corneal tissue. Blocks both initiation and conduction of nerve impulses by decreasing neuronal membranes permeability to sodium ions. Reversibly stabilizes the membrane and inhibits depolarization, resulting in failure of a propagated action potential and subsequent conduction block

27
Q

Tetracaine

Indications

A

Eye injuries or foreign body

28
Q

Tetracaine

Contraindication

A

Hypersensitivity

29
Q

Tetracaine

Precautions
