Q

Engine Start

A

SD Engine Cue - Push

L and R pack swithes - OFF

Engine Start Swith - PULL

Observe - N2, Oil Pressure, N1

At N1 - Fuel Switch - ON

Observe - FF, TGT Rise

At 39% N2 - Start switch retracts, Switch Light EXT

(if start switch does not retract push in at 39% N2)

*Eng considered stabliized once red TGT limit bar (first one) disappears. Then you can remove hand from fuel start switch.

Q

Non-ILS Profile

A

Configure - Slats/Flaps

On intercept heading and cleared for approach - Select NAV, LOC (for LOC only or LDA approaches). Don’t select LOC only until cleared for approach. This arms LOC.

No later than FAF - Set DDA rounded up to the next highest 100 ft in FCP

Inbound 2-5 miles prior to FAF - Gear Down, landing flaps, set landing speed, landing checklist.

Profile - Select or Verify

No later than 1000 ft - Set missed appch speed (180kts), heading and altitude. Verify green box on EAD.

1000 ft - Set Missed approach altitude.

  • For ILS-GS Out (NO LOC only option available in FMS) .2 NM from decent point select FPA and roll wheel to to charted GS angle.
  • If there is an option to select LOC on lateral revision page you use PROF. Once prof is locked in after FAF and before 1000 ft AGL lock in charted FPA.

V1 Cut

A

at VR - Rotate to 12.5 degrees. Flt director bars will be usable around 175 feet.

at 400 ft - Select NAV or HDG

           - Declare Emergency
           - Ask for straight out

at 1000 ft (or accel ht) - Select speed 180, then select level change (or accelerate to 250 retract flaps/slats)

at 180 kts - Memory items, AFTER TAKE OFF CHECKLIST, Non-Normal Checklist

*For flaps 5 takeoffs you won’t need to use full rudder.

Q

Stall Recovery

A

Disconnect autopilot and autothrottle

Max thrust, thru gate if ground contact imminent

Reduce angle of attack until stick shaker/buffet stop

If in turn call HDG HOLD, do not change configuration, confirm speed brakes stowed.

Accelerate to V min or greater for existing config.

Re-engage autopilot and autothrottle

Q

Ground Prox/Terrain Avoidance

A

Disconnect autopilot/autothrottle

Apply maximum thrust thru gate

Roll wings level, pitch up to 20 degrees nose high.

Retract SPEEDBRAKES

If terrain contact a factor pitch up to PLI or stick shaker.

When clear of terrain reduce pitch, accelerate, clean up if desired.

Predictive WIndshear Recovery

MONITOR RADAR DISPLAY - Caution Alert

WINDSHEAR AHEAD, WINDSHEAR AHEAD - Warning

GO AROUND, WINDSHEAR AHEAD - Warning Alert

A

On take-off before 80 kts (caution alert) - ABORT

*Predictive WS caution alerts inhibited from 80kts to 400 feet.

On take-off before 100kts (warning alert) - ABORT

*Predictive WS warning alerts inhibited from 100 kts to 50 RA

After takeoff or inflight warning or caution - Maneuver to avoid WS

REACTIVE Windshear Recovery

HEADWIND SHEAR, TAILWIND SHEAR

2 tone SIREN

Unacceptable flight path deviations

A

On take-off prior to V1 -ABORT

At or after VR- apply maximum thrust, disconnect autothrottles, rotate towards 15 degrees.

Before VR - Apply maximum thrust, disconnect Autothrottles, rotate approximately 2000 ft from end of runway even if airspeed slow.

In flight- Disconnect autopilot, push GA buttons, apply maximum thrust, disconnect autothrottles, rotate to 15 degrees, retract speedbrakes.

Follow FD guidance when it is available. Guidance available when you see WHITE WINDSHEAR on PFD and aural alerts. Guidance not available on approach until GA buttons pressed. RED WINDSHEAR means computer sensing a decreasing performance windshear.

Q

Take Off Considerations OIL/Brake Temp

A

IF engines have been shutdown for more than 2 hours 3 minute warmup required.

Otherwise engine oil temp must be above 20 degrees C. Amber line on EAD.

Brake temp must not exceed 115 C at elevations up to 2200 MSL.

When OAT exceeds 32 C subtract 2 degrees for every 1 degree above 32 C.

For each 1 knot of tailwind subtract 4C.
