  • Keeps the patient at the hospital after they are brought in with a pink sheet. Must be filled out by the Dr. once they arrive at the hospital.
  • Must be renewed every 72 hours.
  • Must remain in patients chart and be communicated

Restraints

A

Pt must be seen by doctor within 1 hour of restraint.

  • If medical, must be checked every 2 hours by nurse. New order needed daily.
  • If psych, must be checked every 15 minutes by nurse. New order needed every 4 hrs.
  • For peds or mentally disabled: parent or guardian can make decision for them to be held or transferred.
