What are complete and incomplete transposition?

A

Complete is a total switch of crown and root to another tooth’s position, incomplete is root in correct position, but 2 crowns basically cross over anad erupt in the wrong place.

What is the cause of this anomaly?

A
  • unclear,
    • may be genetic or
    • environmental (DT/P, trauma, migration during eruption
    • homeotic variation= taking on characteristic of another tooth during development, or actual transposition of tooth germs
