farmers produced more crops thanks to improved tools and techniques. craftworkers made more goods to meet the demands of farmers warriors and wealthy daimyo. merchant class arose to carry on the increased trade in gods merchants often set up markets near temples within castle walls. towns sprang up from these sites and along important travel routes

A

japan exported raw materials such as copper, pearls, and wood. exchange for these items, Japan acquired books, silk, coins, and other manufactured goods. Japanese began to make goods for export including the worlds finest swords. shipment to china included 37,000 shiny samurai swords
